Virtual Live Band è un Gruppo di 4 elementi provenienti da 3 differenti luoghi che si esibiscono su Secondlife. Per fare questo utilizzano Ninjam, un software che serve a sincronizzare il flusso audio nel mondo di Secondlife. Virtual Live Band è la prima e unica band a lavorare in questo modo in Secondlife.
BlueTom Haller (RL Thomas Diederich) vive in Germania vicino ad Hannover, suona la chitarra da circa 4 – 5 anni. E’ il chitarrista e fondatore dei VLB e da un anno e mezzo suona con gli altri del gruppo utilizzando Ninjam.
Foxyflwr Cure (RL Dawn DeSimone), è una ragazza del Jersey (USA). Si esibisce fin da quando era bambina. Il suo sito è www.musicbydawn.com. Ha iniziato ad esibirsi in Secondlife nel febbraio del 2006. Foxyflwr Cure è la cantante dei VLB ed è fantastica!!!!!
Mambo Welles (RL Trevor Tweedy) è di Londra, UK, e suona il basso da 25 anni. Negli anni 80’ ha lavorato con diversi gruppi a Londra. Dopo una breve pausa dalla musica nel 2006 è tornato a suonare rock cover con i Limeburner www.limeburner.co.uk
Vicki Nilsson (RL Victoria Lee) risiede in Upstate NY, Usa. Ha 25 anni di esperienza come batterista nei generi marcia, sinfonica, e jazz. Con molte band locali si è esibita in bar spaziando dal rock, al folk, country e altri generi. Dopo aver ricevuto alcuni consigli tecnici da BlueTom è diventata la batterista dei VLB, il resto è storia. Vicki è diabetica, da 40 anni dipende dall’insulina. Le complicazioni della malattia l’hanno costretta a lasciare le performance nella vita reale.
Virtual Live Band è gestita da Maggy Portello (Nuova Zelanda) che coordina e supervisiona tutti i concerti che vengono presentati a Second Life.
Les Demme (Olanda) gestisce il palco dei VLB durante i concerti. Ha creato un sistema che utilizzando gli script e le animazioni disponibili su SL, le permette di controllare gli avatar del gruppo durante le performance. Inoltre controlla l’impianto luci che lei stessa ha creato.
Virtual Band Live è una produzione di livello globale che sta spingendo in avanti i confini della tecnologia per riuscire suonare la propria musica. Second Life sta fornendo a VLB la piattaforma ideale per riuscire nel suo intento.
Nel Marzo 2008 la Virtual Live Band farà una serie di concerti per celebrare il loro primo anno di attività su Second Life.
Virtual Live Band is a band of 4 members from 3 different countries and 4 different locations playing at the venues of Secondlife. They use Ninjam Software to synchronize and stream their music into the Virtual World of Second Life.
Virtual Live Band is the first band of this kind and the only band in Secondlife to work in this way.
BlueTom Haller (RL Thomas Diederich), lives in Germany near Hannover. He has been playing guitar for the past 4-5 years, and began playing with others in Ninjam about a year and a half ago. He is currently the lead guitarist and founder of VLB.
Foxyflwr Cure (RL Dawn DeSimone), is a Jersey Girl, USA. She has been entertaining since child-hood. Her website is http://www.musicbydawn.com. She started performing in SL in Feb of 2006. Foxy is the lead singer for VLB and she RAWKS!!!!!
Mambo Welles (RL Trevor Tweedy): Based in West London, UK, Mambo has been playing bass for 25+ years. During the 80’s he worked with several unsigned bands in and around London. After a break from the music scene for a few years, in 2006 he returned to playing live with the rock covers band, Limeburner (www.limeburner.co.uk).
Vicki Nilsson (RL Victoria Lee) resides in Upstate NY, USA. She has 25+ years experience as a drum-mer and has played in marching, symphonic, jazz and many local bar bands, with styles ranging from classic rock, folk, country, and more. After seeking some technical advice from BlueTom, she tried out as VLB’s drummer and the rest was history! Vicki is a Insulin dependent diabetic for 40 years, and had to quit playing in real life due to all the complications from this disease.
Virtual Live Band is managed by Maggy Portello (New Zealand) who oversees and coordinates all shows that are presented to SL. She also manages the business side of VLB.
Les Demme (Netherlands) stage manages the VLB shows. She has created a system utilizing the scripts and animations available in SL to enable her to control the band avatars during the performance and to also control the lighting effects which she has created.
Virtual Live Band are a truly global production and are pushing the boundaries of technology to perform their music, Secondlife provides the ideal platform for them to achieve this.
During March 2008 Virtual Live Band will be doing a series of concerts to celebrate their first year of playing in Secondlife.
